Shashlik spice blend “Žārei gaļi” – for the perfect meat marinade

“Žārei gaļi” is a shashlik spice blend created as a balanced base for marinating meat. It highlights the meat’s natural flavor, giving it an aromatic, mildly spicy, and full-bodied taste.

Onions and garlic form a classic marinade base, black pepper adds a light kick, while coriander and oregano create a harmonious, rich bouquet of flavors that is especially suitable for shashlik and grilling.

Marinating recommendations

🔥 Quick marinade (2 hours):
If you need a quick result, use 4–5 heaped teaspoons (≈20–25 g) per 1 kg of meat. Add salt and 1–2 onions. Rub (coat) the meat with the spices so they absorb evenly into the meat’s structure.

Experience:
✔ With mineral water – the spice flavor is more pronounced; the meat is juicy and tender
✔ With vinegar – the spice flavor is milder, because vinegar partially suppresses the spices’ aroma and taste
✔ With mayonnaise – a very good combination, because mayonnaise enhances the flavor; the meat is juicy and tender

⏳ Long marinade (8–12 hours):
When marinating longer (for example, overnight), 2–3 heaped teaspoons (≈10–15 g) per 1 kg of meat is enough. Add salt and 1–2 onions. Rub (coat) the meat with the spices so they absorb evenly into the meat’s structure.

• No large amount of spices is needed
